Premier Hon. Alden McLaughlin responds to suggestions of foul play on a controversial planned road extension in East End. It was recently revealed Mr. Mclaughlin’s and Minister Hon. Kurt Tibbetts’ families own land near the proposed area.

Both dismissed all suggestions of a lack of transparency with the project at a press conference Tuesday afternoon.

“I’d like to indicate that the proposed route was gazetted in 2005 before the first PPM administration took office later in May of the same year. Therefore we could not have had anything to do with the proposed route or routes,” Mr. McLaughlin said.

The proposed extension to the East-West Arterial road will facilitate the Ironwood residential and golf course resort.
